Orange County · Ages 7–14
Hands-on cooking and food science that help young people build confidence, curiosity, and skills they can carry for life.
Food for Thought serves youth ages 7–14 in underserved communities across Orange County. We create welcoming, practical experiences where students learn by doing—and enjoy every delicious experiment along the way.
We connect with elementary and middle schools, after-school programs, and organizations supporting families who need a little extra help.
Each session blends kitchen skills, food safety, science, and the simple joy of making something with your own two hands.
Measure, mix, chop, shape, and cook with patient, age-appropriate guidance.
See yeast rise, flavors transform, and simple ingredients become something surprising.
Taste together, talk about the process, and leave the station cleaner than we found it.

Students bake cinnamon-sugar gingersnaps, then investigate how miracle berries temporarily change the way sour and bitter foods taste.
Students practice a cooking method for eggs, then use ice, salt, and plenty of shaking to turn Greek yogurt into a soft frozen treat.
